The Internet, June 1st, 2011 - The Document Foundation constitutes a global team of hundreds of developers working together to improve the LibreOffice product for the benefit of all users. We are governed by an open, and meritocratic community headed by a diverse interim Steering Committee, and a vendor neutral Engineering Steering Committee overseeing development. Today we welcome Oracle's donation of code that has previously been proprietary to the Apache Software Foundation, it is great to see key user features released in a form that can be included into LibreOffice. The Document Foundation would welcome the reuniting of the OpenOffice.org and LibreOffice projects into a single community of equals in the wake of the departure of Oracle. The step Oracle has taken today was no doubt taken in good faith, but does not appear to directly achieve this goal. දැනට පවතින තත්ත්වය අනුව OpenOffice.org සඳහා කටයුතු කළ ප්‍රජාව ඉන් ඉවත් වී ඇති අතර දැනට 100%ක්ම වැඩ කරන්නේ Document Foundation එක යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වන LibreOffice ඉදිරියට ගෙන ඒම සඳහායි. දැනට ඉතා සක්‍රීයව මෙම කටයුතු සිදු වන අතර OpenOffice .org සඳහා කටයුතු කළ ප්‍රජාවේම කොටසක් වන ශ්‍රී ලාංකික OpenOffice.org ප්‍රජාවද මෙම මෙලෙසම කටයුතු කරනු ඇත. මෙතෙක් සිදු කළ පරිවර්තන එලෙසම සුරැකී ඇති අතර, එම පරිවර්තන ඉදිරි LibreOffice සඳහා කෙරෙන සිංහල පරිවර්තන කටයුතු සදහා භාවිතා වේ. මෙම ලිපිය ලියන මොහොත වන Document Foundation වෙත Oracle සමාගම සහාය දක්වා නැත. ලොව ප්‍රධාන පෙලේ Linux සමාගම් වන Red Hat , Novell , Canonical මෙම LibreOffice සඳහා සහාය දක්වන නිසා ඉදිරියේදි Fedora , Red Hat , Suse , OpenSuse , Debian , Ubuntu , Mandriva යන මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධතිවල ඔබට දැකගනු හැකි වන්නේ OpenOffice.org නොව LibreOffice මෘදුකාංගයයි. පැහැදිලිව තවමත් OpenOffice.org පවතින්නේ Oracle සමාගමේ සෙවනැල්ල යටතේ බැවින් OpenOffice.org සඳහා දායකත්වය දීම නවතා ඇත. නමත් OpenOffice.org නමිත් නව පදනමේ ඉදිරි කටයුතු ඇරඹීමේ හැක...

OO.org ව්‍යාපෘතිය සඳහා ඔබ දුන් සහාය අගය කරන අතර ඔබ ප්‍රජාසේවයක් වෙනුවෙන් කළ ඒ කටයුත්ත Oracle සමාගමේ ආධිපත්‍යයට යට නොවන බව සතුටින් දන්වා සිටිමි. පසුගිය දිනවල OpenOffice.org ව්‍යාපෘතියේ අනාගතයට අදාලව වෙනස් කම් රැස්ක සිදුවූ අතර. අද දින සිට ආරම්ඹ වන The Document Foundation මඟින් මෙතෙක් OpenOffice.org ප්‍රජාව සිදුකළ මෙහෙය Oracle සමාගමේ බලපැමකින් තොරව සිදු කරනු ඇත. දැනට OpenOffice.org වෙළඳ සලකුණ පවා හිමිකරගෙන ඇත්තේ Oracle සමාගමයි, එනමුත් OpenOffice.org හි කේතය LGPL නිසා කිසිදු ගැටලුවකින් තොරව ඉදිරියට කටයුතු කරගත හැකි වේ. The Document Foundation සඳහා සම්බන්ද වීමට Oracle සමාගමටද ඇරයුම් කර ඇති අතර Red Hat, Novell, Google, Canonical වැනි ආයතන මෙම ක්‍රියාදාමයට ශක්තිය ලබාදෙන අතර නිදහස් මෘදුකාංග ලොවේ දැවැන්තයා වන RMS පවා මෙම නව පියවරට සුභපතන ලදි. OpenOffice.org, the Open Document Format and their customers are equally important, Michael Bemmer, the Vice President and General Manager of Oracle Office, said at the annual international OpenOffice.org Conference on Wednesday 1st September. Although Bemmer did not divulge details of his company's future strategy he made it clear that the inexorable rise of OpenOffice.org will continue in the years ahead, in a speech entitled “A Decade of Success” at the plenary session of the annual international OpenOffice.org Conference in the Hungarian Parliament building. This year's event was seen as the most important to date, as the international IT community awaited US industry giant Oracle's first statement on the future of OpenOffice.org since its acquisition of Sun Systems earlier in the year.
