last April 26 th Firefox touched 48.31% of browser usage in Sri Lanka while IE showing 42.39% Source: statcounter Source: statcounter One thing I can point out here is that we don't get these kind of graphs for other countries; such as, USA , Japan , Germany , China , India , etc They all use same set of features in IE and same set of features in Firefox . Only difference is each country has their own language specific release of IE and Firefox . What could be the reason? 01) Fast FOSS education by volunteer groups.. 02) Sri Lankan LAW against pirated software / piracy 03) Firefox is the only browser released in Sinhala language. OR ??

Google නව වෙබ් ගවේශකයක් නිකුත් කිරීම Mozilla සඳහා තර්ජනයක්ද? එය අපට දැන්ම කිව නොහැකියි. දැනට පවතින සහයෝගිතාවය මෙම ලිපිය කියවන ඔබට මැනවින් වැටහෙන ඇතැයි මා විශ්වාස කරමි. [නමුත් තර්ජනයක් වනවාද නැද්ද යන්න රදා පවතින්නේ Mozilla ඉදිරියේදි ක්‍රියාත්මක වන ආකාරය අනුවයි] නමුත් මෙය නවතම තාක්‍ෂණික සොයාගැනීම් කරා Mozilla තවත් වෙගත්ව ඉදිරියට යැවීමට පෙළබවීමක් විය හැක. කෙනෙක්ට තරගයේ රැදි සිටිමට නම් තම හැකියාවන් තරගය පුරා තබාගත යුතු වේ. නුදුරු දිනයකදි නිකුත් වීමට නියමිත Chrome වෙබ් ගවේශකය IE වලට අනිවාර්යෙන්ම තර්ජනයක් වනු නොඅනු මානායි. මෙය අපි කවුරුත් දන්න Google ගේ වැඩක්. එමෙන්ම Chrome එන්නේ විවෘත මෘදුකාංගයක් ලෙසයි. ඇයි මේක අනිත් ගවේශක වලට තර්ජනයක් නැද්ද? දැනට වෙළඳපොල තත්වය අනුව IE හි අගය 80% කටත් වඩා අඩුවීමට පසුගිය ජුනි මස 17 දින නිකුත් වූ Firefox 3 බලපැ බව නොරහසකි. IE හි මෙම වෙළඳපොල පවතින්නේ එය MSFT මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධති සමඟ පෙරනිමියෙන් ලැබීම නිසයි. කෙසෙ වෙතත් අනතර්ජාය භාවිත කරන්නගේ වඩාත් ජනප්‍රියතම සෙවුම් යන්ත්‍රය වන ගුගල් ලබාදෙන මෙම අවස්ථාවෙන් IE හි ආධෛපත්‍ය බිදවැටෙන අතර ෆයර්ෆොක්ස්, ඔපෙරා සහ සෆාරි යන ගවේශක සඳහා ඇති වන බලපෑම එතරම් නොවේ බව මගේ පෞද්ගලිකව විශ්වාසයයි. තවත් දෙයක්, Mozilla හට මුදල් දෙන ප්‍රධානතම පාර්ශවයක් වන්නේ Google, Google සෙවුම පෙරනිමිය ලෙසට පැවතීම සහ Google සෙවුම් දැන්වීම්. ඉතින් බලමු වෙන්නේ මොකද කියලා. අනාවැකි කියන්න තවමත් කල් වැඩියි! කෙසෙ වෙතත් පසුගිස මොසිලා සමුලුවේදි ඉතාමත් ආකර්ශනිය පර්යේශන ඔවුන් පෙන්වා සිටියා. ඉතින් තවත් ගවේශකයක් කරලියට ඒම IE ආධිපත්‍ය බිද වැටීමටත් පරිශීලකයන්හට උපරිම සේවාවක් විවෘත මෘද...

පසුගිය දිනක දුටු පුංචිපහේ වැඩසටහනක තිරපිටපතේ තිබුනේ IE සඳහා 80% ද FF සඳහා 20% වෙළෙඳ පොළක් ඇති බවයි. මේක ඇත්තටම අසාධාරන කතාවකි. මන්ද MSFT විසින් ඔවුන්ගේ Windoz සමඟ IE බලෙන් බෙදීම නිසා ඉබේම Windoz සඳහා ඇති වෙළෙඳ පොළ ඉබේම IE වෙත ලැබීමයි. කව්රුවත් IE හි ගුණාත්මක භාවය ගැන කතා නොකරන්නේ ඇයි දැයි එක් ගැටළුවකි.
