Free and Open Source Software awareness lecture series organized by ICTA and Hanthana Linux community in line with Deyata Kirula 2012 education and trade exhibition was conducted ICTA stall on 7th and 8th of February. A gift from the ICTA  A lot of people participated at this event and the feedback was highly positive. Participants consisted of students, teachers, parents and employees from the government and private sectors. During the session, teachers got the chance to do a short lessons to their students using the education software in Hanthana Linux. At that point teachers were successful in getting used to the software during a short period of time of like 2 minutes and conducting the lesson to their students.   A school teacher (who visit the ICTA stall) conducting a small session on chemistry using Kalzium application to the audience ICTA presented the students with prizes like shool bags and pens and refreshments were offered . දැයට කිරුළ 2012 අධ්‍යාපන සහ වෙළඳ ප්‍රදර්ශනයට සමගාමීව ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු තාක්‍ෂණ ආයතනය සහ හන්තාන ලිනක්ස් ප්‍රජාව එක්ව සංවිධානය කළ නිදහස් සහ විවෘත මෘදුකාංග පිළිබඳ දැණුවත් කිරිමේ වැඩසටහන් මාලාව පෙබරවාරි මස 7 සහ 8 දෙදෙන තුළ ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු තාක්‍ෂණ ආයතනයේ ප්‍රදර්ශන කුටිය තුළ දි සිදු කරන ලඳි.   ICTA ආයතනයෙන් තෑග්ගක්.. මේ සඳහා අති විශාල පිරිසක් එක් වූ අතර සහභාගි වුවන්ගෙන් උණුසුම් ප්‍රතිචාර ලැබුණි. පාසල් ළමුන්, ගුරුවරු, දෙමාපියන් මෙන්ම රාජ්‍ය සහ පුද්ගලික අංශවල රැකියාවන්හි නියුතු කොටස් මෙම වැඩසටහන සමඟ එක් විය. මෙම වැඩසටහන අතර තුළ දි පාසැල් ගුරුවරුන් සඳහා හන්තාන ලිනක්ස් පද්ධතියේ ඇති අධ්‍යාපනික මෘදුකාංග භාවිතයෙන් කෙටි පාඩමක් තම පාසැල් දරුවන්ට කිරීමටද අවකාශ ලබා දීම විශේෂත්වයකි. එහිදි එම මොහොතේ විනාඩි 2ක් පමණ කාලයකදි අදාල මෘදුකාංගය භාවිතයට හුරුවීම මඟින් පාසැල් දරුවන්ට කෙටි පාඩමක් කිරීමට පාසැල් ගුරුවරු සමත් වූහ. ප්‍රදර්ශනකුටියට පැමිණි පාසැල් ගුරුවරයෙක් පැමිණ සිටි පාසල් ළමුන් ඇතුලු පිරිසට Kalzium මෘදුකාංගය භාවිතයෙන් රසායන විද්‍යාව පිළිබඳ කෙටි පාඩමක් කරමින්... පාසැල් දරුවන් සඳ...

Hanthana Linux team, with the collaboration of the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka , is about to a conduct an awareness event on Free and Open Source Software and Hanthana Linux on 7th and 8th of February at "Deyata Kirula 2012" Education and Trade exhibition which is held at Oyamaduwa, Anuradhapura in line with the 64th Independence Day. Lectures series which 100 people can participate at a time, opportunity to use free and open source software installed on computers and people will get the chance to get their queries answered.
