The latest release of Hanthana Linux (a Fedora remix), Hanthana Linux 15 was released !. This marks the fifth release of Hanthana Linux project. First release was on 19th September 2009 in parallel with Software Freedom Day celebrations . It is the strong community around Hanthana Linux Project that enabled us to release the fifth consecutive release. Hanthana 14 (Gagana) is used in more than 15 schools (more than 500 computers) in the island and one being a primary school is of importance. Further, the computer laboratory with 80 computers at Ruwanpura National College of Education is facilitated with Hanthana Linux. Tilt is a Firefox addon that lets you visualize any web page in 3D. A new update is available, coming with more developer-oriented features. Try the addon. මිතුරු මිතුරියනි, ඔබේ නිවසට පැමිනෙන දරුවන්ට මේ අලුත් අවුරුද්දේදි දැනුම බෙදා දීම කෙරෙහි අවදානය යොමු කරවන්නයි මේ කෙටි සටහන. පාසැල් යන ළමයිට අවශ්‍ය උපකාරක දැණුම් පොත් මෙන්ම නවතම පරිගණක අත්දැකීමක් ගෙන දීමට හැකි ලිනක්ස් සංයුක්ත තැටියක් වුවද දීමට හැක. DVD තැටියක් රුපියක් 25 පමණ ඉතා සුලු මුදලක් වුවද එමඟින් දරුවන් ලබන දැණුම මිළ කළ නොහැක. දැනට ආදායම් නොලබන විශ්ව විද්‍යාල සිසුවෙකුට වුවද තමා වටා සිටින හිතමිතුරන්ට මෙලෙස තැග්ගක් දීමට හැකියාවක් ඇත. :) සැමට ප්‍රීතිමත් සිංහල සහ හිංදු අලුත් අවුරුද්දක් වේවා!

බලපත්‍ර සහිත මෘදුකාංග විසින් නිදහස් සහ විවෘත මෘදුකාංග මත පදනම්වන ලිනක්ස් ව්‍යාපෘතිවලට කරන ඔච්චමක්නේ එකට වැඩ කරන්න බැ එකයින එක. ඔන්න දැන් Debian , Gentoo, Grml , openSUSE සහ Arch Linux කට්ටිය එකතුවෙලා අලුතින් ව්‍යාපෘතියක් පටන්ගන්නවා. මේ ලිනක්ස් මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධතියේ නම Canterbury. මෙහිදි "Canterbury Package Manager" පැකේජ කළමණාකරනය සඳහා භාවිත කිරිමට යන්නේ cant :D cant දැනටම ArchLinux මත භාවිත වන අතර මුල් අවදියේදි cant search , cant install හෝ cant remove ලෙස අනෙකුත් මෙහෙයුම් පද්ධති වලද භාවිත කළ හැකි වන අතර ඉදිරියේදි වඩා වැඩි ගුණාංග එක්වනු ඇත. මීළඟ මිරර් කිරිමේදි Debian හරහා cant භාවිතයට පැමිනෙයි. මීට පෙර ද Fedora සහ OpenSuse අතර මෙන්ම  Mozilla සහ Google අතර එකාබද්ධ කටයුතු පැනතුණි. පොඩි කොස්සකට තියෙන්නේ මේකෙ නිළ නිවේදනය ආවේ ඊයේ නිසා ;-) Arch ලිනක්ස් වගේ තාක්‍ෂණිකව සරලව, Debian වගේ ස්ථායි, Gentoo වගේ ආහන්‍ය, Grml වැනි ශක්තිමත් සජිවී රාමුවක් සහ  openSUSE මෙන් විවෘතව සිතන පද්ධතියක් ලෙස කැන්ටබරි කරලියට එනු ඇතැයි මෙහි නිර්මාපකයෝ පවසයි.

Firefox 4 යළි ආරම්ඹ කරද්දි පරණ ටැබ් යළි බ්‍රවෘසරය විවෘත කරන කොට නැ කියන අය මෙම මේ රූපයේ පරිදි When Firefox starts කියන එක "Show my windows and tabs from last time" ලෙස සකසන්න. වින්ඩෝස් පරිගණකයකදී නම්  Tools > Options ලෙස පිවිස කවුළුවේ General ටැබ් එකෙන්ද, ලිනක්ස් නම් Edit > Preferences කවුළුවේ General ටැබ් එකෙන් ද මෙම සැකසුම් ලබාගන්න.   මෙතෙක් ඇඩෝන කළමණාකරුහමු වි නැත්නම් ඔය කවුළුවේම (Preferences > General)පහළ තිබෙන Manage Add-ons.. බොත්තමත් ඔබලා බලන්න. පහත රූපයේ පරිදි ඉතා පහසුවෙන් ඇඩෝන, දිගුවන් ආදිය කළමණාකරනයට ඉඩ ලබා දී ඇත.   තව දෙයක් ෆයර්ෆොක්ස් 4 සඳහා සමහර ඇඩෝන සහාය නොදැක් වීමේ ගැටලුව ඇත්තේ  බ්‍රවෘසරයේ නොව  අදාල ඇඩෝනයේ කේතරචකයා එහි කේතය අලුත් නිකුතුවල සරිලන ලෙස සැකසීමට පමා වීමයි.  සිංහල යුනිකෝඩ් නොවන අකුරු සහිත වෙබ් පිටු දිස් නොවෙන බව පවසන අයට ගැටලුවක් වි ඇති සියබස්ස්ක්‍රිප්ටය ද ඉදිරියෙදි නව නිකුතුවට සරිලන ලෙස නිකුත් වීමට නියමිතයි.
